Welcome to my teacher connection page.  I am hoping you will find this to be a very valuable resource. I will post the instructional focus for each week along with homework, projects, important dates and forms, educational links, birthdays, etc. I am excited to start the new school year and can hardly wait to meet all of you at orientation.  Orientation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 7th.  I will be anxiously awaiting to meet you in our classroom (room 106) between the hours of 11:00-1:00 and 4:00-6:00. Feel free to come with your school supplies.  You will also have the opportunity to purchase an agenda and recorder for music class.   If you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year, please do not hesitate to email me. See you soon! It's going to be a great year!

Coding-

Students do this once a month in the lab.  Students are encouraged to use coding during their free time; it can also be used at home. Students can click on the link under the heading, educational links, to get started.

Box Tops- We are currently in second place for the most number of Box Tops turned in this semester.

VCS has a box top contest.  The class with the most box tops collected will win a prize so please remember to clip your box tops and send them to school with your child. This is a great fundraising program that benefits all the students at VCS.

 AR

To track your child's progress on AR, click on the following website: http://www.tvcsar.org/RenaissanceServer/HomeConnect/Login.aspx.  Reading will improve fluency, stamina, vocabulary, and comprehension. New AR goals have been assigned.  The AR goals are based upon student reading levels and previous goals.  Students are aware that once these goals are achieved, they should continue reading.

 Textbooks on line

The website for both math and science is www.thinkcentral.com . The website for language arts is  www.connected.com . The website for social studies is  https://goo.gl/T34fX4   Students will soon be given an index card with their user name and password, They will be asked to place it in the front pocket of their agenda.  If for any reason a student forgets their math homework page at school, they now have access on line (Go Math SE practice book). When students receive their passwords, please note the 0 in Passw0rd is a zero, not an O.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or email me.
